Happy Star Wars Day 2025 — but instead of lightsabers and Jedi battles, we went a different route for our May 4th watchlist. That said, if you are in the mood for something galaxy-bound, Disney+ has just dropped a brand new shortform animated series, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, which dives deep into the galactic criminal underworld. Worth a look if you’re craving something bite-sized and rebellious.

Meanwhile, back in our stream-heavy world, we wrapped up one series and dove into another. Here’s our honest review of the Season 1 finale of English Teacher and the first two episodes of Bosch: Legacy Season 3 on Freevee.

🎓 English Teacher Season 1 Finale: Episode 8

This final episode takes us to Evan’s birthday — and his very unexpected surprise party at a gay bar. His boyfriend-slash-fuckbuddy invites the entire faculty, setting up one of the more surreal social collisions in the season. One of the funniest scenes? When Markie awkwardly grills an old school friend about his marriage… completely missing the fact the guy is clearly gay. Oblivious characters in the wrong setting = comedy gold.

Becky’s thoughts: She’s firmly decided the principal has to go. “You can’t tell a teacher who he can or can’t date,” she argued — referring to an earlier episode where Evan was told he couldn’t date another faculty member. She also loved Gwen falling through the ceiling while spying on her class, crashing directly into Evan’s room. Total chaos.

Our verdict: A strong, chaotic finale that kept the tone of the season — a great mix of heart and hilarity. We’ll be watching closely for Season 2 news.

🕵️‍♂️ Bosch: Legacy Season 3 – Episodes 1 & 2

After a long wait, we’re finally back in the gritty world of Harry Bosch — and it’s… slow going.

Episode 1: Felt like a long wind-up. Becky thought it was “alright.” I thought it was flat-out boring. The real highlight? The end of the episode where they teased the rest of the season in a slick 4-minute trailer. That preview was more exciting than the entire 40-minute runtime. And let’s be honest — the “Previously on Bosch” didn’t help jog the memory.

Episode 2: Now we’re getting somewhere. Bosch picks up a new case involving a missing family of four, and there’s rising pressure from Internal Affairs as he’s under investigation for how he handled his daughter’s kidnapper. Becky found it much more entertaining — and I’d echo that. A solid recovery from the lacklustre premiere.

We’ll be continuing with this series, aiming to watch an episode a night as we work through the season.

🍿 What Else We’re Watching

Want more recs? We’ve also started watching You (Netflix), and just caught the sequel Another Simple Favor on Prime Video starring Blake Lively. Check out our previous post for a full breakdown of both.

🚀 Final Thoughts

If you’re not in the mood for a big rewatch of Star Wars classics, there’s still a galaxy of content out there. Whether you’re watching teachers fall through ceilings or detectives sift through LA shadows, your May 4th doesn’t have to be all droids and Death Stars.

Until tomorrow’s watchlist — happy streaming!
