Bosch: Legacy Season 3 – Episodes 3 to 5 Recap: Pleading the Fifth, Fatal Twists & Fallout

Welcome back to another round of “What We Are Watching.” It’s May 5th, and we’re diving deeper into Bosch’s gritty LA underworld. Today’s binge includes Episodes 3, 4, and 5 of Season 3 — and let’s just say, the stakes are rising faster than Honey Chandler’s DA campaign.
Previously on Bosch: Legacy…
Bosch, the ex-cop turned private investigator, is balancing his gritty detective instincts with his role as a protective father. At the end of Season 2, Maddie was rescued, but the emotional and legal fallout still lingers. With Borders attempting to frame Bosch and new DA politics in play, Season 3 opens with Bosch juggling danger, distrust, and deep investigations.
Episode 3 – “Shadows of Suspicion” (Original Air Date: April 2025)
Now we’re talking.
Bosch is being investigated for conspiracy to commit murder, and the DA thinks there’s enough to bring him down. But Bosch? Cool as ever. He’s going full “deny deny deny” — sticking to the principle that if you don’t flinch, you don’t fall.
Meanwhile, his parallel investigation into the missing family starts turning up shady layers. Something’s rotten beneath the surface, and Bosch can smell it.
🎤 Becky’s Take: “It’s starting to get juicy.”
🎤 Nathan’s Take: Bosch ain’t sweating, and I love that about him.
Episode 4 – “The Fifth and the Fallout”
This episode takes it up another notch.
Bosch and Borders both plead the Fifth in a high-stakes hearing. It’s clear the DA is doing everything possible to drag Bosch down. But Borders has a more dangerous plan — using the court system as cover to set up a daring escape.
In the end, Borders tries to shoot Bosch, only to get killed in the attempt. Ironically, the very thing that was supposed to bury Bosch ends up clearing his name completely.
Now, Honey Chandler’s stock is rising. With Bosch off the hook and her courtroom instincts proving flawless, she’s poised to make a real run at DA.
🎤 Becky’s Take: “Glad Borders is gone — what a mess of a man.”
🎤 Nathan’s Take: That courtroom tension was classic Bosch. Refusing to flinch while the whole system tries to eat him alive.
🎯 Justice Scorecard: Bosch – Cleared, Borders – Dead, DA – Outmaneuvered, Honey Chandler – Next in line?
Episode 5 – “Dead Ends and New Beginnings”
This one hurt.
A cop is killed — a character we actually liked — and the ripple effects are immediate. Bosch uncovers the grim fate of the missing family: they’re all dead. It’s a crushing moment, one that reminds us how high the stakes really are in his world.
Meanwhile, Honey Chandler officially becomes the new DA, but her celebration is short-lived. Her first case? Hunting down a cop killer. That’s a brutal way to start any job.
🎤 Becky’s Take: “I’d hate to have that as my first case as DA.”
🎤 Nathan’s Take: Losing that cop stung. But Bosch staying relentless is why we keep watching. We’re hyped to see how it plays out in the next episode.
